ER Prerequisites

Is it a new prerequisite that patients drink tons of alcohol before visiting the emergency room anymore? We have been busier after midnight than before midnight.
Nothing is more fun than trying to x-ray a drunk. It is more than frustrating. It is embarassing for the family to have to deal with them while they are in the ER. It wears the hospital staff out. Security has to watch them. It keeps staff tied up for hours.
Since when did the ER become the place to go sober up? No wonder our insurance is so high. It is a sad reality unfortunately.
