Sandwich Generation Stress

You know how they always say once you leave home, you can never go back? I definitely know why now. After being back with my mom, she drives us all crazy. She wants to control EVERY SINGLE ASPECT of our lives.
She treats me like I am 12 years old or something. If it were not for my relationship with God, I would have had a nervous breakdown by now. I try to be patient and not let her get to me, but sometimes I just want to SCREAM.
The other night my husband, the kids, and I were watching a movie and we were cracking up. That is a mother alert…if she hears anyone having a good time, she has to destroy it. I counted 12 unnecessary interruptions within 10 minutes! You cannot watch a movie or tv show without her driving you nuts. She doesn’t want to hang out and watch it with you, but she will not let you have a moment of peace either.
When our attic area is ready, I will be so happy to have a space all to myself and away from mom. I need SPACE so badly it is not even funny. So does my husband and kids. She doesn’t know it yet, but we are putting a door to the hallway with a lock on the inside so that when we go to bed at night, it will be like we are going home. She has to have a line or something so that the incessant interruptions cease. Maybe I should say that we have to have a wall / barrier for our sanity.
Being in the sandwich generation is not easy!
