New Attic Addition

Well, after living in our camper for the past 2 years, I can honestly say that you learn what is really important in life. It is not “stuff” but the people you love that really matters. We had our camper in my mom’s back yard and had moved there to help her out. Her house was too crowded for all of us, so we gutted her attic and finished it in as a master suite for my husband and me.
Right now, we all sleep up there (our kids and us) until we can slowly declutter and move our stuff out of the two bedrooms downstairs that will soon be the kids’ rooms. Let me tell you, it is hard fitting an entire house of furniture, clothing, and personal items into another house that is already full of stuff.
We are going through things, organizing, and getting ready for a big yard sale on things we have not used over the past two years that we have been there. We have already donated a ton of stuff to charity.
I will be glad to get things decluttered and organized so that we can get our lives back to some normalcy. It is hard on kids when things are in such disarray. It is stressful for everyone. As a person with OCD, it is hard to live in such cramped quarters with boxes stacked around you. It makes me crazy. We have been working frantically over the past couple of weeks getting things moved in upstairs.
The camper was something we were very grateful to have to live in, but it was very drafty and cold when the temperatures would get very low even with the heat on. Also on the really windy nights, it was hard to sleep.
It is nice to have a normal size bed once again. Hopefully over the next month or so we can have everyone settled into their own bedroom and a little more space.
