I like to research medications before trying something new. I think reviews are very important to see if a product works or not. I find the acneticin reviews interesting.

I had the bright idea when I had my eyes examined back in March to try contacts. Big mistake for me. While trying to learn to put them in and take them out, I accidentally scratched my cornea. OUCH!!! It was horribly painful and took a couple of weeks with drops and ointments to get to where I could stand it.

I am still dealing with the problem and I did not wear the contacts again. I have what is known as recurrent erosion. It is not healing well and keeps opening back up due to the irritation of my eyelid and it hurts badly. I cannot see out of the eye and it tears constantly. Forget being out in the sunlight.

It happened again this past weekend. I just learned from my eye doctor that he may have to go in and actually scrape a larger place on my cornea to get it to lay down new healthy tissue. I do not like the word “scrape” and “eye” in the same sentence. ICK.

I have another week to go with over $80 of drops and ointments to see if it will heal properly this time. If not, I get to have it scraped next week. I am not looking forward to it to say the least.

Most Americans see no upside for their family in the health care reforms being considered in Washington and don’t believe President Obama when he says his plan won’t add “one dime” to the federal deficit. The majority of Americans believe they will have to make changes to their health care coverage if the president’s plan is passed.

These are just some of the findings of a new FOX News poll released Thursday.

More Americans would rather Congress do nothing than pass Obama’s plan: 46 percent to 37 percent of people polled say they prefer the current health care system to the one the president has proposed.

Similarly, more people oppose — 48 percent — the health care reform legislation being considered right now than favor it — 38 percent. While most Democrats — 65 percent — favor the reforms, majorities of Republicans — 79 percent — and independents (55 percent) oppose them.

Click here to see the full poll results.

This is not surprising given less than one in four Americans (22 percent) think they would be better off under the reforms, and many (60 percent) think they will probably have to make changes to their health coverage despite Obama’s assurances that they will not have to. In addition, a sizable majority (67 percent) thinks the president’s plan will increase the national deficit.

By more than three-to-one, Americans say if they were sick they would rather be covered by a privately-run health insurance plan (62 percent) than a government-run plan (20 percent).

Opinion Dynamics Corp. conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from Sept. 15 to 16. The poll has a 3-point margin of error.

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., introduced a health care bill on Sept. 16 that does not include a government-run health insurance option (or “public option”) to compete with private health insurance companies. Critics of the public option insist the idea is to move the country closer to a government-run system by forcing private insurers out of business. The public is divided on whether passage of a so-called “public plan” would eventually put private health insurance companies out of business: 52 percent think it would, while 41 percent disagree.

Baucus’ proposal requires all individuals to buy health insurance. Some 42 percent of Americans agree with this proposal, while a 54-percent majority disagrees and thinks the government should not be able to require even those Americans who can afford it to have health insurance.

Obama’s Job Performance

Overall, 54 percent of Americans approve of the job Obama is doing as president — up one point from last month.

Slightly more people disapprove than approve of the president’s handling of health care: 44 percent approve and 48 percent disapprove. To give this some perspective, Obama gets better ratings on his handling of the economy (55 percent approve) and Afghanistan (51 percent).

A 57 percent majority of Americans think the president should be spending more time right now fixing the economy — that’s three times as many as say he should be working on reforming health care (19 percent).

Top Ten Procedures That Might Disappear Under the Obama Health Plan

1) Reduce the number of drug choices available (for instance blood pressure medication not one kind works on everyone)

2) Knee or Hip Replacements for the elderly (so just because mom is 86 but is very active she cannot have her hip replaced if she falls and breaks it? that is INSANE)

3) CTs / MRIs – Reduce the number of these procedures done (say you have breast cancer found on a mammogram, the government can tell you that a CT to detect whether or not the cancer has spread is not necessary – do we want the government deciding this or our physicians? This really hits home with me since I am a CT tech)

4) Cataract surgery (this is not extending the life span but merely improving the quality of life – not a necessary procedure under the Obama plan – would he want to go blind because he was denied a procedure?)

5) Cardiac Stents (saying that they have not been proven to extend life and are not necessary – that is total BS – my mom would not be alive today without the cardiac stents she had put in)
Endangered procedures? This could be very scary for America. Be aware. We are losing our CHOICES here. Check out this video.

Under the Obama plan, these procedures could also very well go away.

1) Targeted Cancer Treatments (these newest cancer treatments have improved treatment accuracy 90% compared to years ago)

2) Cosmetic or Reconstructive procedures (example: even burns – as a burn patient surgery may not be considered necessary if it is not life saving)

3) Transplants (transplants are already hard to get, under this plan you would wait even longer or not even be considered a candidate due to more strict guidelines)

4) Bariatric Surgery (this surgery can mean the difference in life or death for some people – but would not be considered a necessary procedure)

5) Dialysis (this would be denied to people who may have certain illnesses or have caused the kidney problems due to something they had done in their lifetime)

Do we as Americans want to lose our choice in our health care? I don’t. It is time to take a stand now before it is too late. The government has no business managing my health care. We need to attend these town hall meetings and show them just how rowdy we can get!

We grew spaghetti squash in our garden this year because I had heard how delcious it is as a pasta substitute. Well, I must say it is delicious! I found this information on About.com:

Spaghetti squash is a good alternative to pasta, potatoes, or rice. The cooked squash flesh shreds into threads like thin spaghetti or vermicelli, hence its name. On average, a spaghetti squash measures about 12 inches in length and about 6 inches in diameter. The squash should be an even light yellow color and firm with no bruises. Store whole at room temperature up to 3 weeks. Spaghetti squash is available year-round with peak season in fall.

Spaghetti squash has a very mild flavor, thus it is usually served with a sauce of some sort. It may also be enjoyed simply with salt and a bit of butter. Cooking the squash is very simple.

How to cook spaghetti squash:

• Prick the spaghetti squash all over with a skewer so it will not burst while baking.
• Place whole squash in a shallow baking pan.
• Bake in preheated 375 F oven for 1 hour.

• When cool enough to handle, cut spaghetti squash in half lengthwise with a serrated knife.

• Scoop the seeds and fibrous strings from the center of the cooked spaghetti squash.

• Gently scrape the tines of a kitchen fork around the edge of the spaghetti squash to shred the pulp into strands.

• Cooked spaghetti squash is usually served with a sauce or gravy because the flesh is very bland in flavor.
• It may be served alone as a side dish with the addition of salt, pepper, and butter.

Although hair loss is fairly common, it can be a tough thing to live with, especially when it changes how you look. But there are ways you can treat your hair loss.

How you choose to treat your hair loss depends on the cause. It also depends on your feelings. You may decide that you need treatment, or you may not be worried about thinning hair or baldness. The choice is up to you.

There are many differenty types of hair loss solution on the market. Before choosing a hair loss solution, it is a good idea to thoroughly research a product before trying it.

There is a lot of talk today about colon cleansers. Is colon cleansing good for you? Does anyone really need it? To a certain extent, the jury is still out. That’s because researchers have devoted little study to colon cleansing.

One of the main theories behind colon cleansing is an ancient belief called the theory of autointoxication. This is the belief that undigested meat and other foods cause mucus buildup in the colon. This buildup produces toxins, the theory goes, which enter the blood’s circulation, poisoning the body.

There are many, many colon cleansing products on the market today. My advice is to check with your doctor before deciding to do this procedure.

Colon cleanse products can be purchased at just about any drug store.

Remember that “natural” doesn’t necessarily mean safe. The government doesn’t regulate natural colon cleansing products, so their potency, safety, and purity can’t be guaranteed. And, each state has its own rules about whether or not practitioners must be professionally licensed.
