Isn’t it funny how you give your ex the benefit of the doubt and think he will pay child support as he should? I never thought he would be such a jerk about things. But, I was mistaken. He did finally catch up on his payments.

My complaint is that his pay is now more than twice what I make per month. Goofy me as the breadwinner before my hours were cut, decided to go easy on him with the child support payments. Now with my pay/hour cut and his huge overtime, I am struggling desperately to stay afloat.

I need to get the child support adjusted asap before I lose our house.

Why does it seem that many times when a marriage reaches the 15+ year mark things seem to fall apart? Is it because we just take each other for granted? Is it because we are just bored? Is it the much talked about mid-life crisis?

So many of my friends are dealing with this right now. I am not sure what causes the rift or even if the couple has any idea. It just happens. I guess sometimes it is an affair or it could be abuse be it mental, verbal or physical. Neither of these makes the thought of a divorce easy.

Being on one’s own after being married so many years can be a frightening experience especially if you do not like being alone to begin with. Getting back out in that dating arena is probably what I would consider the most scary part.

If there are kids involved, it is never an easy thing. Divorce is very hard on kids. As a child of divorced parents, I was often a pawn they used against each other. It was a horrible way to be treated, but that was the way it was.

Parents need to put their children’s needs first when going through a divorce or separation. Children are people too and should be treated with respect and their opinons should be considered.

Do you need a motorcycle accident lawyer?

Why does life have to be so difficult and have so many obstacles? Why can’t life just be fun and full of laughter?

If I could change something about myself, it would be to not take things so seriously. I do pretty well most of the time, but there are times when it just seems too much to bear.

I love to laugh. But, today, it was a hard day. My mom is declining so rapidly with her Alzheimer’s it is really taking a toll on me. I have a lot of other things going on in my life that are stressful as well.

I did something today that I rarely if ever do…I broke down and just cried in front of someone. I didn’t mean to. I wasn’t planning on it. I guess my emotions were just running so high I could not contain it.

Mom is just not mom anymore and it breaks my heart. We have not always had the best relationship, but all in all it has been a pretty good one. That is why her decline is so hard for me to take. It seems that none of the medications are doing anything to slow the progress at all.

My dad passed away 6 years ago, but we were never close nor did we have a healthy relationship. My mom is all I have left, and I am an only child which makes it even harder on me. I will muddle through it with God’s help. God is the only one who can help me in this mess.

Fall is in the air and it is my favorite time of the year. I love the feel of the nip in the air, the changing colors of the leaves, the smell of the season, and the activities of this time of year. It was during this season that I experienced my first love.

Little did I know that he would end up being what I consider my soulmate. I knew the very first time I saw him that he was very special. I knew I wanted to date him. We dated for nearly 3 years. We had a wonderful, caring, loving relationship. We could talk for hours and never run out of things to say. Although we were both young, I knew he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

But something happened and it caused us much pain and grief. It was a horrible hurdle to overcome. A decision was made for us with little thought on how it would affect the two of us which was totally devastating.

I ended up going away to college and that did not help our relationship. We ended up seeing other people, but my heart ached for him.

We did go out one last time after we had been apart for several months. Nothing had changed, we were both deeply in love with each other, but for some reason we did not get back together. I was so down and depressed.

About two years later, I saw his engagement in the paper and I knew I had lost my chance. That was it. I went into a blue funk for months. I just did not have the heart to date or do anything.

I was in the middle of completing my degree when I saw the announcement. It was all I could do to finish school, but I knew I must get on with my life without him.

I met a very nice guy and we dated. I told him my whole history so that he would know how I felt and why I was the way I was. He accepted me with all of my broken pieces (believe me there were a lot of them). We dated for about 3 years and decided to get married and start a family. He is a wonderful man. But, I could never get my first love out of my system. It was always as if a piece of me was missing that no one else could fill. Such is life.

I never saw or heard anything about him for about 20 years. I ran into him one day while eating out with my family. I introduced him to my husband and family. My feelings were still there as much as ever. Is that not amazing?

Sigh…why does life have to be so difficult?

Don’t you just love the nip in the air? I love those crisp days, where the sky is blue, and the sun is warm on your face. I especially love to take walks in the fall. It is my favorite time to go camping.

I love the smell of autumn in the country. The spicy scent of wood fires burning. Each one sending me back through time to my childhood. My grandparents would take us on long walks through the woods on the mountain.

I love the sky in autumn. When the sky is blue, it’s a much deeper, more intense blue. The sunsets explode in many splendoured colors, soaking into the edges of the clouds giving them a beautiful outline.

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May (May 25 in 2009). It commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service.

First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War (it is celebrated near the day of reunification after the civil war), it was expanded after World War I to include American casualties of any war or military action.

Many people observe this holiday by visiting cemeteries and memorials. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Another tradition is to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff from dawn until noon local time. Volunteers often place American flags on each gravesite at National Cemeteries. Many Americans also use Memorial Day to honor other people who have died.

Remember those who are serving in the military as they protect our country!
