Weight Loss Supplements

Posted by Main Blog on Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Sad but true, the average dieter wastes thousands of dollars on diet supplements that don’t help them lose weight. I can attest to having done that over the years.

Very few weight loss diet supplements ever deliver dieters anything at all while charging them hundreds of dollars. Finding the right diet supplement not only costs dieters, it frustrates them every time they think about losing weight.

Thankfully, I found something that worked for me – low carb dieting.  It really does not seem like a diet to me as I get to eat basically what I want minus a few carbs here and there.

Third Shift

Posted by Main Blog on Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Third shift is so hard on the body.  I never get enough sleep…especially quality sleep.  Everything revolves on day shift hours and I have to function on day shift to get things accomplished that need to be done. It makes for a very sleep deprived me.

They say you never ever “catch up” on missed sleep.  I cannot even imagine how bad my deficit is.  I am not sure I even want to know.

HGH

Posted by Main Blog on Thursday, May 27th, 2010

HGH (human growth hormone) can be used to treat conditions that produce short stature but are not related to deficiencies in HGH. However, results are not as dramatic when compared to short stature that is solely due to deficiency of hgh.

Athletes in many sports use human growth hormone to enhance their athletic performance. Some recent studies have not been able to support claims that human growth hormone can improve the athletic performance of professional male athletes.

Awards

Posted by Main Blog on Thursday, May 27th, 2010

I was so very proud of my daughter for earning an AR Reading award.  She far exceeded her AR Goal for the year once again.  As a child with learning disabilities this is a great achievement.  It was wonderful to watch her beam when she got her award.

Skin Care

Posted by Main Blog on Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Good skin care is no accident.  Skin is the largest organ we have.  It is important to take good care of your skin to slow aging and to reduce the risk of skin cancer.

Cleansing, exfoliation, and moisterizing skin are all very important elements of good skin care.  It is good to match your products to your skin type and needs rather than just buy anything off the shelf.

Some products are not good for all skin types.  Using the wrong type of product can actually cause damage or more skin problems.  Moisterizers are important and different types should be used for day and night application.

The best night creams are a great way to nourish your skin. Night times are for our skin to rest and become rejuvenated. During this time, our skin gets a rest from the harmful UV rays of the sun and is able to focus on repairing skin cells.

Graduation Time

Posted by Main Blog on Thursday, May 27th, 2010

I cannot believe my son is graduating from 8th grade and headed to high school next year.  Time has really gone quickly.  They grow up much too fast.  He will turn 15 in July.  I know I am not ready for the learner’s permit! I will need a tranquilizer!

How on earth will I afford the insurance?  I am not looking forward to this at all! LOL

Time for a change?

Posted by Main Blog on Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Are you having spring fever to get your house in order and looking its best? I know I am.  I finally am getting a new living room after having the same sofas for 12 years.  They have seen better days and I am glad to see them go.  LOL.

I got a great deal on new ones and leather at that.  I love them! Naturally that lead to wanting new end tables, a new entertainment stand, wanting my big screen mounted on the wall, and new decor.  One thing always leads to another.  Modern furniture is not quite my style.  I am more of a traditional / eclectic person.

Big Move

Posted by Main Blog on Thursday, May 27th, 2010

This upcoming week will be very stressful and busy.  I will be helping my mom move into an assisted living facility.  It is sad.  I never thought I would see this have to happen.

I know it will be much better for mom’s stability to have things pretty much on an even keel with little change in routine.  The house (her house) where we live will seem so empty and odd without her.  I know it is just another chapter in my life and hers, but it saddens me still.

It will take a lot of getting used to for both of us.  She is used to being so independent.  This past year has really knocked the wind out of her sails with the Alzheimer’s.  Hopefully she will be happy in her new home.

Enjoy the Outdoors

Posted by Main Blog on Thursday, May 27th, 2010

It is time to dust off the patio furniture or replace the old worn out outdoor furniture for summer.  Make the outdoor seating as comfortable as your indoor seating.

Nothing says summer like a new patio dining set, umbrella, pool furniture, outdoor kitchen equipment or a grill.  I want to have an outdoor kitchen so that I can play, cook, and entertain all in one place.

Contacts

Posted by Main Blog on Thursday, May 27th, 2010

I had the bright idea when I had my eyes examined back in March to try contacts.  Big mistake for me.  While trying to learn to put them in and take them out, I accidentally scratched my cornea.  OUCH!!! It was horribly painful and took a couple of weeks with drops and ointments to get to where I could stand it.

I am still dealing with the problem and I did not wear the contacts again.  I have what is known as recurrent erosion.  It is not healing well and keeps opening back up due to the irritation of my eyelid and it hurts badly.  I cannot see out of the eye and it tears constantly.  Forget being out in the sunlight.

It happened again this past weekend.  I just learned from my eye doctor that he may have to go in and actually scrape a larger place on my cornea to get it to lay down new healthy tissue.  I do not like the word “scrape” and “eye” in the same sentence.  ICK.

I have another week to go with over $80 of drops and ointments to see if it will heal properly this time.  If not, I get to have it scraped next week.  I am not looking forward to it to say the least.
